The process of evaluating estate or consignment jewelry starts with a thorough cleaning of the pieces so that the components can be correctly identified & condition can be assessed. The metals are then identified & tested using an electronic gold and platinum tester. The gemstones & diamonds are then identified and measured using appropriate equipment. Each piece is thoroughly examined for prong issues, loose stones, damaged stones, etc.
